Hygroton tablets contain chlortalidone (aka chlorthalidone) 25mg, a diuretic used to treat fluid retention or high blood pressure.
The spaces between the cells of the body are known as interstitial spaces. A buildup of fluid in the interstitial spaces is known as oedema and if not drained away may cause serious health problems. Hygroton tablets are used to remove the excess fluid and relieve oedema.
Hygroton tablets also help to lower elevated blood pressure and may be used on their own or in combination with other antihypertensive medications to manage high blood pressure. Additionally, Hygroton tablets help to prevent the formation of kidney stones.
