Tobradex Eye Drops contain the antibiotic, tobramycin and the corticosteroid, dexamethasone to treat inflammation and infection in the eye.
Tobradex eye drops are used to treat inflamed bacterial infections of the surface of the eye such as conjunctivitis. Tobradex is often prescribed after cataract surgery to reduce inflammation and swelling and prevent infection.
Other uses for Tobradex eye drops include corneal injury from chemical, radiation or thermal burns or after removal of foreign bodies from the eye.
Tobradex eye drops are applied to the conjunctival sac (one or two drops) every four to six hours although the dose is often increased to every two hours when more intense treatment is required.
