Lumigan Eye Drops contain bimatoprost 0.03% used to treat glaucoma, a condition where the pressure in the eye is too high and may lead to blindness.
Increased intra-ocular (inside the eye) pressure can cause damage to the optic nerves leading to loss of peripheral vision and eventually complete blindness in the affected eye(s).
Lumigan is effective in treating the intra-ocular pressure and helps maintain normal eye pressure.
A side-effect which is now considered to be an off-label use for Lumigan is the growth of eye lashes.
In the treatment of glaucoma, one drop of Lumigan is applied usually in the evening before bedtime.
