Nuelin SR 250 Tablets contain the bronchodilator medication, theophylline 250mg and are used to treat bronchospasm found in asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Nuelin SR 250 helps to relieve bronchospasm but is not suitable for treating acute asthma attacks which usually require a reliever medication.
Nuelin SR 250 may be used as part of an overall asthma management plan that may include a “reliever” bronchodilator inhaler, and a corticosteroid “preventer” inhaler.
The action of the active ingredient, theophylline in Nuelin SR 250 is to cause bronchial smooth muscle to relax, inhibiting bronchospasm which opens the airways making it easier to breathe.
