Ovestin tablets contain oestriol 2mg, an oestrogen hormone used as replacement therapy for menopausal atrophic vaginitis.
Atrophic vaginitis is generally found after menopause where the vaginal skin layer begins to thin which leads to inflammation, itch, irritation, dryness, and susceptibility to vaginal infections.
Intended as a short-term treatment Ovestin helps to restore the vaginal tissue which helps to provide symptomatic relief and protection against vaginal infections. If necessary, Ovestin tablets may be used longer-term, according to your doctor’s advice as maintenance therapy.
Ovestin tablets are taken with water, with or without food, according to your doctor’s guidance and for a period of up to several weeks until symptoms improve.
