Tamiflu capsules contain the antiviral medication, oseltamivir 75mg and is used to treat and prevent influenza, more commonly known as the “Flu”.
Treatment with Tamiflu should begin within the first two days of onset of symptoms.
The influenza virus can cause mild to severe symptoms that characteristically include high fever, sore throat, muscle and joint aches, headaches, heavy fatigue, and runny nose. Vomiting and diarrhoea may also be present. Sometimes secondary bacterial infections may complicate influenza and other health problems may be made worse such as asthma or heart conditions.
Tamiflu capsules should be started as soon as symptoms identify a likely case of influenza in adults, with a dosage of one capsule taken twice day for a course of five days treatment.
