Resolor film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient, prucalopride 1mg, a 5-HT4 receptor agonist used to treat chronic constipation.
Chronic constipation is usually defined as having less than three bowel movements per week continuing for several weeks or longer. There is no known cause for chronic constipation in the absence of other disease states or as a result of taking certain medicines known to cause sluggish bowels such as opiates.
Resolor is used to provide relief from chronic constipation when other medications have been found to be ineffective. Prucalopride is a gastrointestinal prokinetic medication that increases the muscular contractions of the colon to stimulate the normal passage of compacted faeces and restore normal bowel motions.
